Brief description of course and learning outcomes:
Learners with an Advanced diploma in civil engineering are able to analyse technical issues objectively and find engineering solutions when putting civil into practice. This level of instruction will help students with technical problems in areas including surveying, soil testing, technology, and resource management.
The modern economy requires qualified technical level workers with in-depth understanding of the three phases of civil engineering, particularly the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
After completing the course, students would have improved engineering skills and the capacity to handle problems involving civil designs. Students will also study about self-managed learning, lifelong learning, various types of skills, CAD, the best procurement strategy, contractual obligations, and project management throughout the modules.
Those who want to work in civil engineering tasks like designing, planning, and constructing on-site are the course's target audience. For individuals currently
Course Objectives:
On completion of the course, learners should be able to:1. Demonstrate the understanding by solving Engineering problems through the application of engineering principles.
2. Use engineering design to create solutions that address specific demands while taking into account aspects such as public health, safety, and welfare as well as regional, national, international, social, cultural, and economic considerations.
3. Examine ethical and professional obligations in engineering settings and reach well-informed decisions that take into account how engineering solutions will affect societal, economic, environmental, and global contexts.
4. Describe how a team that consists of individuals who work well together to define goals, schedule tasks, and achieve objectives can function well.
5. Show technical and managerial proficiency by using these abilities to analyze and design systems, specify project techniques and materials, conduct cost estimations and analyses, and oversee technical activities in support of Civil Engineering projects.
6. Apply new knowledge when necessary, utilizing the right learning techniques, such as BIM.
